Professor Paudayal completed M. Sc. Geology from Tribhuvan University (1990-1993), Ph.D. (1999-2002) from Vienna University, Austria, and Post Doctorate (2007-2009) from Senckenberg Research Institute, Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He has authored more than 75 research articles published in national and international journals and two books related to Geology. He has been teaching in the Central Department of Geology since 1994. He served as the Vice-President of Nepal Geological Society (2012-2013). He was Chief Editor of the Journal of Nepal Geological Society (2016-2017) and Chief Editor of the Bulletin of Department of Geology, Tribhuvan University (2018-2019). He has received ÖAD fellowship (Austria), American Association of Stratigraphic Palynologist Award (USA), Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship (Germany), CAS-TWAS Fellowship in 2006 and 2011. CAS-PIFI Professorship at Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy pf Sciences (ITPCAS, China). Professor Paudayal has scientific collaboration with the scientists from Austria, Germany, China, India, Japan and UK.
Research Interest: Tertiary-Quaternary climate change in the Himalaya and Tibet
